New yarn and a not so finished project

So this was going to be my Ravolympics project – the saddle shoulder sweater (which I’m steeking and turning into a cardigan) in Knitting Without Tears. Well I didn’t so much complete it, by the time the Olympics were over I was done with the body and about half way done with one sleeve. as of this morning I am about four or five inches away from being done with the first sleeve. I seem to have lost a lot of my energy on this one and am debating on putting it on the back burner in favor of finishing my Francie socks, the first of which is almost finished and which I set aside to work on the cardigan.

I also managed to finish spinning up some two ply fingering weight yarn from an Allspunup spin along fiber I think. I’m pretty sure it’s either a merino bamboo blend.

I also spun about an ounce of babydoll southdown/silk blend (that I blended on my drum carder). It’ll eventually be a three ply fingering weight yarn and my second experiment with a  babydoll southdown/silk blend yarn for socks.

Have you decided that you like drop spindling now?

Perhaps…I’m still wavering on whether I want a Jenkens right now though.

Finishing projects gives me steam… I am working on a complicated vest that’s frustrating me because it takes such a long time to knit a round… and it’s tiny yarn… so for a sidetrack, I’m working on a top down raglan that’s been waiting patiently for sleeves… I might be able to finish a sleeve today… and finish the sweater sometime in the next week or so… that makes me feel like I’m making progress on projects and will help me with the endurance to continue the other project :)
